How the HubSpot integration works
| Direction | What moves | Why it helps |
|---|---|---|
| HubSpot → SalesMix | Contacts from a HubSpot list, with the properties you map | Target the segments you already maintain in your CRM |
| SalesMix → HubSpot | Interested replies and conversation outcomes, as contact activity | Reps see LinkedIn conversations next to email, calls and deals |
Step 1: Build the list in HubSpot
Create an active or static list of the contacts you want to reach. Make sure each one has a LinkedIn profile URL property, since that's how SalesMix finds the person on LinkedIn. Properties like job title, industry or lifecycle stage are useful for filtering and for personalizing messages.
Step 2: Import the list into a sequence
Connect HubSpot in SalesMix, pick the list, and choose the sequence it should feed. Map HubSpot properties to message variables, for example firstname to {{first_name}} and company to {{company}}. Leads are deduplicated by LinkedIn URL, so overlapping lists won't double-enroll anyone.
Step 3: Let replies flow back
Replies land in the SalesMix unified inbox with an intent label. When a reply is marked interested, or a conversation reaches an outcome, SalesMix logs it on the HubSpot contact. Your team can then run follow-up from HubSpot as normal: assign an owner, create a deal, or enroll the contact in an email sequence.
Custom HubSpot workflows with webhooks
If you need more control, like creating a deal only for interested replies from a certain segment, subscribe to SalesMix webhooks and call HubSpot's API from your own code, an n8n workflow or any automation tool.
// Subscribe your endpoint to reply events { "url": "https://hooks.yourapp.com/salesmix", "events": ["message.replied", "lead.intent_changed", "sequence.completed"] } // Then, in your handler (Node.js) if (event.intent === "interested") { await createHubSpotNote(event.lead.linkedin_url, event.text); }
Going the other way, you can enroll HubSpot contacts from a HubSpot workflow by calling POST /v1/sequences/:id/leads. Send an Idempotency-Key such as the HubSpot contact ID so retries never enroll a contact twice. The API reference lists every endpoint.
Tips for LinkedIn outreach from HubSpot
- Exclude customers and open deals. Add list filters so you never cold-message someone your team is already talking to.
- Pick the right account. If a contact has an owner, reaching out from that rep's LinkedIn account keeps the relationship in one place.
- Keep volume sensible. A large HubSpot list doesn't change LinkedIn's limits. Each account sends at its own safe pace; see the LinkedIn limits guide.
- Use Salesforce instead? The same sync is available for Salesforce leads and contacts. See all integrations.
HubSpot integration questions
Can I start LinkedIn outreach from a HubSpot list?
Yes. Import contacts from a HubSpot list into a SalesMix sequence. Contacts need a LinkedIn profile URL, and you can map HubSpot properties to message variables like {{first_name}} or {{company}}.
What does SalesMix write back to HubSpot?
Interested replies and conversation outcomes are pushed to the matching HubSpot contact as activity, so reps see LinkedIn conversations next to emails, calls and deals.
Does the HubSpot sync cost extra?
No. HubSpot, Salesforce and Slack sync are included on every plan, from Starter at $99/mo to Unlimited. See pricing.
Can I build a custom HubSpot workflow instead?
Yes. Use SalesMix webhooks like message.replied and lead.intent_changed to trigger your own code or an n8n workflow that updates HubSpot however you like, and enroll contacts with the SalesMix API.
What happens to contacts already in a sequence?
SalesMix deduplicates leads by LinkedIn profile URL, so importing the same HubSpot list again won’t enroll people twice in the same sequence.
